Peru 2001
Birds and Mammals

Peru has about 1700 species of birds, the second highest of any country in the world. To put this in perspective, this is over twice the number found in any of the continents of Europe, North America or Australia!

My advise is to bring good binoculars and a field guide, and hire a good local guide who knows where to look.
